(Electric dog fences are useful and ensure that they keep unwanted animals or people from encroaching upon ones territory. The shock varies from mild to strong. Read this article to know more.)
An electric dog fence acts like a barrier that is used to deter animals or people from crossing beyond a certain point that means exceeding the desired boundary. This is done with the help of electric shocks and either keeps animals or people from leaving a particular territory or keeps them from entering one. The voltage of the shock produced by the electricity varies and may be only uncomfortable, or painful or even lethal. Today most electric dog fences are used for the purpose of fencing agricultural grounds, or pasturing animals.
A dog fence helps to increase the security level of a sensitive area and there are places where for the need of extreme security lethal shocks are used. Electric dog fences create an electrical circuit when a person or an animal tries to trespass. There is a component called power energizer that converts power into a pulse of very high voltage. While one end of the power energizer gives out electrical pulses along an attached bare wire at a speed of one per second, the other end is connected to a metal rod inserted into the earth commonly referred to as the earth rod.
When the person or animal touches the wire as well as the earth simultaneously, it completes the electrical circuit and conducts the pulse in the process eliciting a painful electric shock. The effect of the shock produced by an electric dog fence might only fear the trespasser back to where he belongs or even kill him depending on the voltage of the shock.
