Posted by Ken Leonard Jr.

So you want to sell online… You have a product ready to go, but how are you supposed to write a sales letter like the ones used by the biggest names in internet marketing? A sales letter that attracts prospects and makes sales?

It’s no secret that the biggest names in online marketing have been studying the art of writing sales copy for the web for many years. If they haven’t, they hire someone who has.

Just having a product to sell online is not going to make you sales. Unless you have the budget to hire a pro copywriter for the web (which will cost you as much as $15,000 for one sales letter, possibly plus 10% of the gross sales), you had better start learning how to write a sales letter that will bring you sales.

The key to a winning sales page for your web site is crafting a great offer. Your offer must be so irresistible, that it almost looks like you are getting the short end of the deal. Like the customer is taking advantage of YOU!

Your irresistible offer must also stand out from the crowd. Develop your own USP (unique selling proposition) and wave it around like a flag. This is why they should buy from YOU, instead of somebody else.

One more thing your offer must do is solve a pressing concern or problem that your prospect is AGONIZING over. Your sales letter must clearly state their biggest problem. Prove how bad this problem really is to your reader. Then give them the clear solution to their problem available only from YOU!

Lead off your sales letter with the offer’s biggest benefit to your potential customer. Then lead them into an interesting story dealing with their situation. Capture their attention and hold it, by inserting subtle “teases” that tell them what’s to come further on in your letter. This creates curiosity, and if done well, will keep them GLUED to your web page.

To build value for your product from their perspective, educate your reader and inform them of what your product will do for them (always keeping “What’s In It For Me” in mind). Make sure any strong statements are backed up with a “reason why” so they are more believable. This does wonders for your credibility in their eyes. If price is a major objection use a strong reason why to make the prospect understand your product’s real value to them.

As your offer develops use a limited time or limited quantity deal to create a sense of scarcity and fear of loss. Spell out your bonuses clearly and recap the benefits they will get (and WHY they are important). Then go over everything they will get WHEN (not IF) they buy from you.

Some sales people would call your next step closing the deal, but you should really look at it as a “call to action”. Tell your reader EXACTLY what you want them to do NOW, then tell them WHY.

Sign your sales letter as you would normally, with a pleasant goodbye and your signature or initials (a scanned or hand drawn signature works well). Include a P.S. where the first paragraph is another recap of what they will get, and in the second paragraph nicely question their commitment and attitude concerning the biggest benefit, ending with another strong call to action. (The second paragraph can be a P.P.S.)

The more your practice, the better you will become at writing sales letters for the web that sell.

Studying “The Masters” helps a lot, too. It is common practice in the world of copywriting for the web to collect a “swipe file” of sales letter examples from various copywriters and marketers. Use the examples in your swipe file to build (also known as modeling) your own successful sales letter, written mostly in your own words. Be sure you customize the examples for your market and offer, and don’t copy anything word for word or you may be facing copyright infringement troubles later on.

You started by writing the headline of your sales letter, moved through the body and now you’re getting to the nitty-gritty part of your copy - getting your prospect to part with his money…

Will He or Won’t He Buy?

By now you have acknowledged and agitated the problem your prospect is facing, you have introduced your solution to him and, boy what a glorious solution you have for his problems…

You have stressed the benefits of your solution and shown your collection of testimonials to back up all your claims about your product’s effectiveness. Your prospect has read your iron-clad guarantee and feels secure that were he to buy from you he would have no risk whatsoever.

Your client has no doubts as to how miserable his life will be if he doesn’t find a solution to the problems he is facing.

In fact you’ve built up an intense desire in your prospect for your product or your solution to his woes… But this is still not the time to let up - the marriage hasn’t been consummated yet - he still hasn’t hit your order button!

You still have to persuade him to hit that ‘buy’ button and enter his credit card details into your online order form.

You can’t give him the slightest chance to hesitate, you have to show him a stunning sub-headline that pushes him over the edge and makes him hit that buy button with a frenzy that will leave him breathless.

This follow-up sub-headline must impel him into immediate action, whatever you say must be strong enough to remove all the last vestiges of doubt from his mind.

He’s near boiling point after reading your powerful sales copy so the final push could be:

“Stop losing money immediately, invest in your copy now”

“Why wait until tomorrow to change your life?”

“It is time to get a better life, isn’t it?”

“If you aren’t man enough to take on a challenge - Don’t Order Now!”

“Are you ready to really change your life?”

“Take ‘XYZ’ program for a test drive now”

“I challenge you to try ‘ABC’ out for 30 days, risk-free”

You can also remind your prospect about your risk-free guarantee policy:

“Don’t forget that when you invest in ‘XYZ’ I shoulder all the risk… You have a full 90 days to profit from this investment…”

You can also use the fear of loss to help push your prospect over the edge. Show him exactly what he stands to lose if he doesn’t invest in your solution now.

If necessary remind him why he has read your sales letter so far, restate and reagitate the problems he is facing, remind him of your solution and urge him to act now otherwise his life will continue to be miserable.

Don’t forget to add a couple of PS’s after your signature.

Many people will scroll to the bottom of your sales letter and read these first, they should contain the major benfits and/or the fear of loss as mentioned above.

As a final thought why not remind your prospect that all the smart people have already invested in your product or solution and ask him if he really wants to be isolated in society.

The need to fit in is a big psychological tool that you can use to great effect in your sales letter.

How to Keep Your Article Content Fresh and Interesting

Posted by Craig Ritsema

Webmasters everywhere are constantly on the lookout for fresh and interesting content for their website. Along with these content qualities is the requirement that it be unique. Everyone wants their website to stand out above the others in the search engine results.
So what is the trick for you to keep a steady supply of this quality content coming your way?

One trick stands out above the others: Personality. Everyone has it. Along with personality some basic research would also be helpful.

There are authors who are very good at writing content or articles and giving them personality. We know them most often as copywriters or professional authors.

We can purchase the services of these professionals and reap the rewards. I’ve personally purchased articles from such a person, otherwise known as a ghost-writer, and have been very happy with their work.

The downside to this approach is that the good ones cost money. Unless you have a lot of this to spend your supply will be somewhat limited. The other downside is that their personality, no matter how good it is in writing, is not your personality.

If you’re really serious about succeeding with an online business, why not learn the art of writing online content yourself? Sure it takes time. Once you perfect it however, you have a quality asset for succeeding in the competitive world of online business opportunities.

The easiest way to get started is to pick a subject matter you have experience with. If you have your own website, hopefully you have chosen an area of expertise or a hobby that interests you.

There are two areas you need to master in your quest to be the ultimate in online content authoring: Techniques for writing and the subject matter itself. If you start with an area of interest to you that you have experience with then the subject matter is easy. You can then simply focus on learning the techniques.

What are the techniques and how do you master them?

The techniques for writing articles are many and beyond the scope of this article. Offline, bookstores have resources for learning the techniques. Online, your best option is to find some good forums and read what others have to say. Much can be learned this way.

The following are some good tips to master the technique of writing articles:

* Read other peoples articles. Learn what kind of subject matter they write about and how they communicate this to readers. If you come across an author who really draws you into the article, find more articles they have written and study how they write it.

* Join forum groups. Read what other people do and how they do it. Ask questions if you need help. You’ll find many websites offering email courses to learn the techniques, usually for a price. I’ve never signed up for one, so I can’t speak to the quality of this kind of learning process although I have spent a good deal of time reading thru different online forums and have learned much this way.

* Learn how the search engines view your articles. If you want to succeed financially online then knowing how to write for maximum exposure in the search engines is important. Here again, a good forum group will help. Some e-courses delivered via email (free) can also provide good information. Just have to be careful that what you sign up for is quality and not just an opportunity for spammers to flood your inbox.

* Practice makes perfect. You will need to write articles, and most likely many of them to succeed. You will not improve or succeed and reach your goals unless you’re doing the work.

The internet is forgiving to those who initially start their article creation venture. A poorly written article for the most part goes largely unnoticed. If this is your first online venture, you may be surprised just how unnoticed poor content can be on the web.

Mastering the technique of article writing takes time. However, once you get past the learning curve, you’ll be glad you persevered.

Once mastered, move on to new subjects and maybe you’ll even find your goldmine of opportunity in the process!

How Unique And Believable Is Your Website Copy?

Posted by Elaine Currie

There is a growing trend in Internet marketing to use long sales letters. These sales letters are appearing in email advertising campaigns and on websites. Personally, I actually like this trend. Offering a long and detailed explanation of a product is much more helpful than presenting a “teaser” and a demand for an email address in return for better information.

The Internet marketing experts have declared the traditional form of sales letter dead and are saying that long sales letters are what you need to succeed. Fine by me: as I say, I prefer long sales letters. The problem is that there are Internet marketers who can’t write long advertising copy. In fact, there are plenty of Internet marketers who can’t write a decent bit of advertising of any length. What are these unfortunate people able to do that will enable them to compete in a world where long text rules?

Well, I can think of three options straight off: (1) they can hire a professional to write the sales letter on their behalf, (2) they can shamelessly copy someone else’s sales letter and just change a few details around or (3) they can buy expensive software to do the job for them.

If you are thinking of developing a long sales letter for your website or email campaign, each of these options has a drawback. The first option is definitely the best but the services of a decent copywriter are far from cheap. The second option could lead you into trouble if you plagiarise a document which is subject to copyright. From what I have read the expensive software is just a lazy man’s way of performing option 2. There is a further big problem with the second and third options: if you can’t write decent advertising copy, will you know what to change to “personalise” your sales letter sufficiently?

I have noticed a trend related to long Internet advertising copy that I don’t like. I am seeing too many different websites that contain what is essentially the same sales letter with just names and other small details altered to give the impression of unique content. This variation of small details might fool the search engines but will it fool potential customers? If I have noticed this duplication in passing, potential customers who are carefully researching competing websites are bound to notice.

The point of this type of advertising copy is to present the story of the writer’s own unique experience. People who read a “personal story” on a website will remember the story outline and maybe a name or place will stick in their memory. If they then come across an identical story told by someone completely different, they will start to suspect people are just making these stories up. It’s bound to happen and that’s bad luck for the guy who invented the original version because his protests will be drowned in a huge chorus of “I am Spartacus!” from all his competitors.

To show you what I mean, here is an example. The following is real advertising copy I noticed recently on two completely unrelated websites:

Website 1

“”I get up every day and shower and put on a dress and leave my family to go to work for a living. I come home after dark, I’m dead tired, and I just fall onto the couch and go to sleep in front of the TV.” I nodded. **** was getting worked up. “You, on the other hand,” she said as she pointed at me, “are home when I leave in the morning. You’re home when I get back from work. You have a nice house, a nice car… and as far as I can tell you don’t even have a job. So I want to know how you do it!”"

Website 2

“”I get out of bed every day, attempt to wake the kids and get them ready for school. Have my shower. Get some clothes on and leave my family to go to work. I work a good 9 hour day, drive home and exhaustedly slump onto the couch.”

“But You! I see you through this window (she points) every single morning. You’re right there on the couch when I get up. Right there when I go to work. And more often that not you’re right there when I get home.”

I nodded uncomfortably, **** was getting worked up.

..You’ve got a luxury car. This house. You take regular vacations… ”

You will undoubtedly have noticed some striking similarities in these two short extracts. These sales letters are promoting two different programs and are purportedly the true stories of two website owners. What would you think if you were a potential customer visiting these websites - would you believe one of them, both or neither? Wouldn’t you become deeply suspicious of all concerned after reading half a dozen further versions of this unique true story on other websites?

The intellectuals tell us that there are only seven basic plots in story telling. So, you might well ask, isn’t it going to be impossible to stand out as being different? Remember, West Side Story is based on the same plot as Romeo and Juliet, the plot of Jaws can be read in the Anglo Saxon story of Beowulf. Just these two examples show that the film makers put in a lot of effort to distinguish their productions from previous ones and it paid off. West Side Story was definitely more profitable than any local dramatic society version of Romeo and Juliet has ever been. Make sure your long sales letter is a block buster and not an amateur production.

Discover the 7 Keys to Effective Sales Letter Writing

Posted by Sean Mize

Effective sales letter writing skills are imperative for the web business owner or entrepreneur. Fortunes are made and lost online on the strength of sales letter writing. No matter how great your product, if you cannot convey that to your potential buyers, and convince them to buy your product, you will not make it online. Perhaps you are struggling today. Take these keys and use them to revolutionize your sales letter writing ability.

Key 1) Know Your Purpose and Your Audience: This is an extremely important and oft overlooked Key to sales letter writing. It is so easy to think, this is a good product, I’ll just tell them all about it and they will buy. But it does not work that way, does it? You must know your purpose–assuming it is to sell a product, you must do what will work to sell products, not what you necessarily want to do. You must write a compelling sales letter that literally drives people to purchase from you. You must also write to your audience. They do not really care what a wonderful product you have created, they really want to know, what will this product do for me? How will it solve my problems and make my life easier? So write to their problems, their challenges–not your excitement about your new product.

Key 2) Headline: This is one of the most important parts of a sales letter, and yet many web writers simply try to throw one together in a hurry. Think this one through. If they are not compelled to read the rest of the letter after reading the headline, how much will you sell? Nothing? Nada. Zilch. The headline must tell it all. Tell them what, how fast, how much, how many, whatever might be critical. For example: How to ____ 30 times in 30 days, guaranteed. Or: ____Steps to the __________ You Deserve. Or: How I ___________ Just Like __________ in ________ Days, and How You Can Too. Try filling in the blanks with your product details. Write yourself one hundred different combinations of those phrases. Tweak them. Select the 20 best. Let your spouse read them. Have her cut it to 10. Then let your kids decide on the best one. Just don’t settle for the first thing that comes to your mind. Work hard at it and learn to create the best headlines.

Key 3) Introduction: Introduce yourself, why you are qualified to talk about this product, what you have done for others in this area. Talk about a problem–tell a story about a problem, talk about the pitfalls of something that your product can relieve.

Key 4) Testimonials: Include several testimonials from people who have tried your product and liked it. This is critical. There should be at least three testimonials, and there can be as many as you want. The more the better!

Key 5) Benefits: Talk about what this product can do for your customer. Not what it does, how it looks—your sales letter should not be about the product, it should be about your customer. Your customer’s needs and how their life will improve with your product.

Key 6) Guarantee: Offer an unconditional, better than the best, guarantee. Your customer is an online customer, has never met you, probably never will—and does not trust you or your product. But with an unbelievable guarantee, they will feel more comfortable–and buy your product.

Key 7) Make it easy to buy, and ask for the sale: Tell them exactly how to order it, how fast they will receive it, and how easy it is to order it. Include several links and several different methods of payment. Try to streamline your order process so that they have to click the least possible number of links to make the final purchase.

There you have it. Now go write sales letters. Don’t just write one and try to make it the best. Write a new one every day for a month. From scratch, following these keys. At the end of the month, look at all the sales letters and take the very best from each one and you will have a great sales letter. You really have it in you to write sales letters, you really can learn—just do it and it will get easier with time and repetition.

Here’s what works best from actual results and testing on dozens of websites we’ve done the copywriting for.

1. Websites have one main end purpose and that is to sell your products and/or services, to move people to action, to make money. In today’s high-tech world, most copywriting on websites forgets this vital fact and that is why they don’t perform better.

2. Make the website easy to “scan” with headlines, sub headlines, boxes, sections, colors and the like that give the reader the main benefits he will get. Almost all people are “scan first” or “scan only” readers. The headlines and sub headlines should take advantage of this fact.

3. Tell the reader what he will LOSE if he does not take the recommended action. Fear of loss is a great motivator.

4. Build up excitement, enthusiasm, passion and urgency to get the reader to take the desired action right now. Yes, excitement is contagious and it sells!

5. Make a great offer to get the prospect’s email address. In today’s overcrowded environment and with spam concerns, it’s not enough to just say “enter your email address for our newsletter.” Make a great offer including special reports, bonuses and the like in addition to the newsletter to get the maximum number of qualified signups.

6. Focus the copywriting because people want to buy from the expert specialists in a field. If the copy is too broad it will lose a lot of the best prospects, who of course, are the most likely to buy. A great way to do this is to have separated focused web pages for separate types of people or industries on the website.

7. Make the website as easy to use and find things as Amazon.com (for consumers) or Dell.com (for businesses). The copywriting and organization of these sites is a key reason they are ultra-successful.

8. Start thinking like the website reader (the prospect) and stop thinking like the marketer. Figure out what the prospect wants most from the products or services that they deliver, then come right out and tell him what benefits he’ll get, why, and what he needs to do now. Simple but it brings in billions.

9. Compare the product or service against the competitors to show and prove it’s superiority.

10. Copywriting is king and queen for the website to sell the maximum number of people. The right copywriting can bring up to double, even triple or more the current results for no additional marketing cost. Hire the best copywriter the business can afford, and don’t skimp because this one-time investment can be one of the best investments.

11. Test everything, measure it, use the winner, and always keep testing. This is the key to “optimizing” the website and all your marketing. Don’t guess – test and let the only vote that matters (the prospects) decide what works best.

7 simple rules of creating a text for a web site

Posted by Maxim

One of the Internet gurus – Jacob Nielsen - in his book says that “the objective of visiting a site is to get some certain information”. The problem is that there are lots and lots of information and sites containing this information in the Internet. And sometimes it is really difficult to find the very information you need.

Imagine: you’ve been searching for some information during a long period of time. At last you find the site which contains the necessary information, but the data on this site are very difficult to read. Frankly speaking, this happens pretty often. What happens then? An unsatisfied user leaves the site and the site looses a user. The reason for this is just an improper text design. So, if the main objective of visiting a site is to find necessary information, the main objective of creating a site and its design is to make the process of finding information on your site the easiest thing.

Now, there is a question: how to design a text for a site so that to help a user find the very information he needs which is contained at your site?

While writing and designing texts for a site you need to follow some simple recommendations:

1. Text should be brief and laconic. Texts of large size are very difficult to read at a computer screen. Try to avoid different parenthetical words and constructions, reasoning, which is not dealing with the main idea of the text.

2. Text should be convenient for quick reading. It is better to divide the text into paragraphs, use subtitles and bulleted lists. Information which is structured at least some how can be easier accepted by the users.

3. It is better to divide a text of a very large size into several chapters or even pages, which can be connected by links.

4. If there are any additional materials which are somehow connected to the information presented at your page, you shouldn’t arrange them at the same page; put some links in the text right on the meaningful words.

To put links in the text is not so easy, as it seems to be. There is some risk of putting too much or too little of them. Try to strike the happy medium. Links should be issue-related: they should either extend the material, or should have informative character: explain or give more precise information on the topic.

5. Information should not be presented only in the form of a text, it is so boring to read plain text. Do not disregard using pictures, photos connected to the information given in the text.

But here it is also important to be very careful: 1 – 2 pictures in a large text will be not enough and too many pictures will lead to a long download of the page and the thing is that a user will not approve it.

Ok, we have discussed the number of pictures, let’s talk about their size. The pictures should not be too small or too big. For instance, Jacob Nielsen advices to use pictures of 150 – 200 pixels in width.

6. Check the text, do not make orthographical and punctuation mistakes, follow elementary language norms.

And one more thing: turn to editors’ help; this can be very useful. And the last but not least recommendation: when writing the text, answer the user’s question “how?”: How can I do this? How can I find? How can I buy? How can I check? etc. Only then your site will definitely become a useful resource.

For Internet marketing writing good articles is must. But it is not possible for every body to write good and effective articles. In most of the websites generally you would have seen only repeated contents. Perhaps you think that you are also not a good writer and you feel writing good an article is a very difficult task.

So, how to write a successful article?

Read a lot. If you read a lot then you will learn from it by seeing how others have written what you are reading. More you read, more you learn which will improve your writing skills.

Read children’s stories, stories that are made to take you imagination on a ride, it might help open up some creative skills.

Read…Learn….Write…Read..Learn..Write…
It’s a never-ending process….

There are also some writing techniques online that’ll help you develop the writing skills within you.

Just continue reading and try to write from time to time and you will soon develop it.

Start a blog and practice writing every day for a set period. Eventually, it will become easier.

English may not be your ‘main’ language but reading and learning will make you able to write in English.

Follow the following steps:

First is as usual. Read a lot, and by lot means a lot. I am not going to ask you to spend hundreds on some book or magazine, all I am asking is read your daily ENGLISH newspaper, try comprehending how the sentences are formed, try grasping perfect words. This can make you sound mature.

Second, ask a friend, or your wife or parents to give you any random topic, which is challenging. Open MS Word and begin writing, try to form sentences on how you read it in the newspapers. Now as you move on, you will have an instinct to write more.

Suppose you are writing an article on “Stock Trading”. Then think about the random keywords for your article. And the keywords are “stock” & “trading”. So now try writing an article keeping both the keywords in mind. Make sure you repeat the term once in every fourth sentence, but do not make it appear as if it’s been forced there, maintain a smooth flow, and before long you will have an absolutely well written article, that you’ll be proud of.

Just kidding, but just think of a subject, and start writing about it. The more you start writing articles, the better and more often you will find yourself writing them. The more you do it the easier it becomes.

Some general tips:

Use bullets or lists when writing an article. People don’t like to scroll horizontally. They like to scan their eyes vertically down the page.

Use one-line sentences often.

Bold items you think are important.

Use commonly understood language. Avoid technical terms, and huge words.

Don’t write huge paragraphs. Break it up into small easy to understand sentences!

Never, ever write an article as if you’re writing a paper or thesis.

Use lists and bullets as much as possible!

Watch movies with good writing such as those directed by Charlie Kaufman.

So, don’t wait. Start now!

Article Marketing Myths And Facts

Posted by Chris McElroy AKA NameCritic

By now everyone has heard of article marketing and so many people out define it in so many different ways there that it has become hard for people new to article marketing to understand.

First of all, most of the SEO Gurus caught on to article marketing late in the game, then scrambled to create their own definitions of it at the last minute so it didn’t appear they were ever not aware of the power of article marketing.

In general, article marketing is where you write an article on a topic that is related to your website topic. Not a promotional article for your website, but an article about something that is informative to the reader. In the article you use keywords and phrases that relate to your topic as well, much like you would optimize a webpage. Your article when reprinted will be the text of a webpage or webpages.

In the author bio section at the bottom is some info about you and links to your website. It is suggested that you put in one link to your main page and one to an interior page that fits the article you are writing.

If your article is submitted to websites that take article submissions and offers free content to webmasters, then webmasters choose to repost your article on their websites, the links in the author bio section become links from their websites to your website.

Now lets go on to the myths and facts about article marketing.

MYTH: Article marketing doesn’t really help you all that much.

FACT: Article Marketing can help you increase your link popularity and be a source of some of the most targeted traffic you can get.

MYTH: Reprinted Articles only get indexed as supplemental pages, therefore it doesn’t help enough to make it worthwhile.

FACT: Depending on where the article gets submitted to, the article itself can get a top 10 listing in major search engines and not as a supplemental page.

MYTH: Submitting your article everywhere creates duplicate content and the search engines will punish or discount those pages as a result.

FACT: If search engines punished duplicate content in the way that myth suggests then all rss feeds that cause a post in a blog to be reproduced to be discounted or published and they are not. The New York Times articles and CNN stuff is blasted all over the web and are not punished or discounted.

Duplicate content is two webpages that are around 70% similar, not two webpages that have similar text on them.

MYTH: The only way article marketing works is you write an article then submit it to thousands of article submission websites.

FACT: There is more than one way to make article marketing work for you. The way mentioned above works okay if you are looking to get a lot of links back to your website whether they are related or not and can be effective if you currently have very little or no link popularity at all.

Another way is to hand submit your article to article submission websites that only accept articles related to your topic. This is more difficult but the links help you more just through the submissions and it’s more likely that the websites that pick up and repost your article will be also related to your topic which can help you with better links and targeted traffic.

Yet another way is to write a very high quality article that you really take your time on and research. You then choose a very high traffic website related to your topic. One that has great PR and a lot of visitors.

Email them your article and offer them an exclusive if they will print your article with your links included in the bio. If your article is of good quality and they get an exclusive you have a good chance they will post your article there.

This one posting of your article can be more powerful than the mass submitted article method if you choose the website you submit it to carefully.

Last but not least, posting your article exclusively on your own website is a great way to add fresh content and if the article is good, people will link directly to the article increasing both traffic and PR for your webpage where you posted the article. But for this to work you need to already have some traffic to work with.

MYTH: You should always post your article in your website first, then wait to get crawled by the search engines before submitting the article elsewhere.

FACT: Adding articles to your own website is called adding content. Submitting those articles to other websites is called article marketing. With article marketing you don’t want the article indexed on your website first.

Yes you read that right. You do not want the article indexed on your website first. You are or should already be doing SEO on your website and adding fresh content to your website for the search engines to get traffic from them.

Submitting articles to other websites and having the search engines find it there first gives another gateway that people can find your website through.

If the websites that you submitted your articles to get crawled often, then having your article appear there with the links intact will get your website crawled as well.

If the websites you submitted your article to are getting indexed well by the search engines, then your article being found on their website first might get it in the top 10 results.

Placing it into your own website with no or low PR might not have gotten the article indexed at all.

I hope this article will clear up some of the myths about article marketing and that it has helped you understand how and why it works.

What Is It About Private Label Articles ?

Posted by Stephanie Foster

If you’re receiving many internet marketing newsletters at all right now, you’re probably hearing about new private label articles at least every couple weeks. They’re the hot way to build sites quickly and look like an expert, earn AdSense income, etc.

But do they really work that well?

So much depends on the quality of the articles themselves. I’ve bought private label articles myself. Some were great. Others were pure, unusable junk that got basic facts wrong. All from the same private label article site. So much depends on the particular writer assigned to the topic.

Now, I’m the kind who likes to be unique, so I was rewriting quite extensively. In fact, I dropped my membership on realizing that I was spending quite a bit of time rewriting. The articles I got were often little more than research or inspiration for me. The title alone was enough in some cases.

Of course, I’m not everyone. Lots of people don’t enjoy writing, so for them private label articles are a wonderful addition to their business. I’d still suggest making a few changes, and definitely check for accuracy.

There are some factors you need to consider when choosing a resource for private label articles. Accuracy, as mentioned above, is quite important, as is the quality of writing. You don’t have to be a good writer to recognize good writing.

However, you also need to take a look at the terms of the website. What are the rules for using the articles? What if you quit? How many other members can there be?

I started writing this article after getting an email advertising a new turnkey private label article membership site. It’s limited in its membership, but I wonder what restrictions there are for members offering membership to the sites they run using this technology. Are the articles all the same for everyone?

Since you know that others will have the chance to use the private label articles you buy with a membership, you need to consider how many others you might be competing with. On average, most members will do nothing with the articles they get on these sites, but some articles and subjects will prove more popular than others. Since you can’t know in advance, you want to be certain that membership is limited and the articles aren’t being distributed across several different private label sites.

Is there any way to be sure of this? Not really. The best you can do is find out what others think of the membership you are considering. Honest opinions can be hard to come by, so take a little time with your research. You can also take a look at the guarantee, and be ready to use it if the articles are honestly not what you needed.

Do I have a favorite private label article site? No, so I won’t be pitching one here myself. I was a member of one for a while, but as I said, quality ranged from good to poor. I might try one again in the future, but for now it’s an area I’ll leave alone.

They are a good way to get content for your site, certainly easier and cheaper than hiring a writer. But make certain that you know how you are going to use the articles and make the most of your investment.
