Goal setter, you have all these goals, you work towards them, but they just don't seem to come in time. You may quit and find another goal. Over time, you loose faith in the power of goal setting. Hold on, tomorrow is your future, you got to keep on moving. If you let life pass you by, then it is all over. Tomorrow is your future, and you need to keep on moving forward. Goal setting is truly a powerful exercise. Imagine for a moment of deciding on a career path, the goal you set could last you for your working lifetime. However, we get stuck on the time factor. We think that we need to achieve a goal by that time, and if we don't it is not going to ever materialize in our lives. This is not true. Imagine for a moment the first time you went for a job. You may not have known the length of time it would take to go there. You may have had to set out earlier. Same as goals. If you have not plotted a path, and made that journey several times before, then how can you seriously say how long it will take for you to get to your destination? As goal setters, we often set goals which take us on paths and journeys which we have never been through - the unknown. We set goals, and work hard. The time comes and they are not there. If we look at the example of the first day at work. You have never been there before. You set out; perhaps you gave yourself more time to get there early. Perhaps you got there on time, early or late. Imagine there would have been some people who would have gone back home if they were late. With goal setting this is exactly the same principle. We set goals, we work to achieve them, and when the time comes, we give up. When we look at the people who achieve success, we find that they simply continued. Ignorance is bliss, and whenever we can learn the truth it is better. But, sometimes it is better to be ignorant of the fact. Yes, the time has passed, and the goal is nowhere to be seen. But, nothing is stopping you to run a bit more. The athlete runs till the finish line, whether he was the best time or not. They are all winners. You can be a winner; you can achieve so much in the period of time you are here. You can be all you ever wished for. You will however need to continue. Take action, take action, and more action, and win.
