The Best Pillow for Snoring is Not the One on Your Bed

Why can we confidently say that the trusty old down pillow that you've had for years is not the best pillow for snoring?
Take a look at that pillow on your bed and describe it - is it lumpy and bumpy? So soft that you can put your hand in the middle and push all the way down to your mattress? The best pillow for snoring is one that is going to cradle your head and neck, and not allow your head to fall back. When this happens, your mouth falls open and you start to snore. Snoring pillows are firmer, and usually have a scoop shape in the middle to hold your head and neck.
When looking for the best pillow for snoring, there are a few things you want to consider. The first is the price. There are so-called snore pillows that range in price from around $20 to $200. How do you know the difference, and what makes the more expensive ones so expensive? Are they worth the cost?
Sometimes the price is simply a matter of a brand name. The best pillow for snoring doesn't necessarily need to come from Sharper Image or some other high-end retail store. Many of the snore pillows that are more affordable are perfectly fine, and even are made the same way with the same materials.
Your pillow is something that will be absorbing oils and dead skin cells from your face, as you have your face pressed up against it for so long. This isn't quite as disgusting as it sounds, but the best pillow for snoring is one that should be machine washable. Sometimes the foam materials used for snore pillows are not, and if this is the case and you purchase a pillow such as this, be sure that you get some good machine washable covers and linens for it.
Also, not everyone wants to sleep in the same position or in one position all night. While you may prefer to sleep on your back or your side, in truth, most people change positions when they sleep several times during the night. The best pillow for snoring is one that will support your head and neck regardless of whether or not you're a side sleeper or prefer to be on your stomach or in any other way. Be sure to find one that specifically advertises that it supports you in any sleep position.
