Aside from memory loss, short term memory loss, and improving memory problems, there is another disease that attacks the nervous system and that is what we call Parkinson's disease. This is a serious illness that numbers of individuals are suffering from. As has been said, Parkinson's disease attacks the nervous system. It is an illness that makes a person lose control of his capability to move and to be stable. It is hard to hold a pen and write the way that he once did. It may also be hard to control his body the way that he once did. Having Parkinson's disease can be very embarrassing for lots of individuals to deal with because he will have to face the fact that he is not the same with the others. The support of the family can be a great method of treating this disease. Using the support system that he has around him can be a great help physically and emotionally as well. Being able to do the things that he once did without help may not really be an alternative but if has has somebody there to help him through it and to give him the needed guidance it may not be as hard. When you know somebody that has Parkinson's disease you have to provide support to him or her. You need to make it sure that you are giving all that you can to provide him an open amount of communication so that he feels as if he is loved and cared about. Communicate with him about what he needs and what he desire to do. Give him the ability to make his own choices and to be in control of some very essential things in his life. Never judge a person when he has a Parkinson's disease. You have to be sensitive enough and loving towards them. Never joke with regards to his abilities or give him a hard time when he is afraid to do something. Using good thoughts and positive comments is something that an individual with Parkinson's disease can feed off of and be so encouraged by. You have to make sure that you, as his family, give him the love and respect he needs and deserves to feel his best all the time. Family plays a big part of healing no matter what type of illness it is. If you have someone in your life that is going through the agony of Parkinson's disease you should read as much about it as you can in order that you have the facts to help you be more in control and able to develop a better environment for your loved one.
