You may probably want to lose some weight. Yet there are a lot of myths about diets. In this article, we are attempting to discuss some of these myths.
There are someone who said that it is totally alright for a person to take a diet with high protein and low carb. As a matter of fact, you are trying get the amount of calories you need from foods with high protein contents. Some of such foods are meat, dairy products and eggs.
When you are taking such diets, you will probably be allowed to take a small amount of food which contains carbs. Some of this kind of foods are bread, pasta and potatoes. However, there are some problems associated with such diets.
First of all, you will only be allowed to eat certain kinds of food. You may feel very bored when you are taking this diet. You may not be able to stick to the diet. You may even quit the dieting plan because it is too boring. And as a result you will not lose weight. Besides, you will not get the nutrients you can be brought by the foods with carbs. This can also be a problem since the diet will not be a balanced one. On the other hand, such diets will probably allow you to eat bacon and cheese. This will certainly raise your cholesterol level. A high cholesterol level can increase the risk of getting heart attack.
You may be able to lose weight very fast with such dieting plan. However, what you have actually lost is essentially water. And this will add stress to your kidney. Without any surprise, this will not be something healthy.
There are also people saying that you can lose weight permanently with fad diets. However, it is not really true. You will need to cut a lot of food intake when you are taking fad diets. As a matter of fact, this will not be something healthy. It has to be stressed here that a balanced diet is always important if you would like to lose weight healthily.
Since you are not allowed to eat the food you love when you are taking fad diets, you will be tempted to eat the food you love. You may even eat more than you normally eat. To this end you will only gain weight. And this is why it is not possible for you to lose weight permanently with fad diets.
