With the ever-increasing fashion for size zero, it has become apparent that more and more women are relying on chauffeur car hire to get them from A to B. For us mere mortals, chauffeur car hire is a luxury we experience on rare occasions. Prom nights are a big thing for young girls when daddy employs chauffeur car hire for them and they cruise around the town, getting tipsy on cider, yelling obscenities from the windows and feeling like rough royalty. For the celebrities, chauffeur car hire often comes as a matter of course. They are then free to cruise around the town, getting tipsy on champagne and shouting obscenities from the windows, feeling like celebrities. For the press, it was often considered a sport to chase those using chauffeur car hire and shove your camera through the window to get a picture of any passing minor celeb in a state of drunken debauchery. And haven't the stars given them something to snap recently! It's the chauffeurs I feel sorry for! Opening the door during the course of their duty to have paparazzi snapping photos of their passengers advertising the fact that they have omitted to put on any underwear that day, cannot be in the job description, surely! Celebrities occasionally will have cars of their own that they like to whizz about in disguised as one of us. You know, with perfect make up, enormous sunglasses and a scarf over their heads, just to ensure they don't attract attention. This was, of course, in the days when they were strong enough. Now, it's the fashion to look like you've spent the last three years in a concentration camp with bones sticking out in all directions and muscle being something that stands next to you in his designer jeans and t shirt to catch you when you faint. These waifs do not have the strength to undo a petrol cap let alone take control of one tonne of moving metal. And this is the precise reason that chauffeur car hire has seen an upsurge in business. If one of their passengers has pushed the boat out and treated herself to half a grapefruit for breakfast, she may just have the strength to get from house to car unaided. Driving around throughout the day, you may well have to pull into an appropriate eatery, just for show of course. There is a reason none of these people are ever snapped inside. The fact that the restaurant is charging 17.95 pounds for a bottle of water is nothing. This water has been steamed through an ancient volcano, trickled through some Amazonian rain forest and probably passed through several hundred third world inhabitants to make it as precious as it is today. For that reason, they are quite happy to pay this price. That, and the fact it will stave off hunger pangs without adding too many calories to their heavy schedule. At least if they succumb to temptation and indulge in a lettuce leaf they will be able to lay back in their chauffeur driven car and work it off with a few sit ups on the way home.
