If you are about to interview for a new job, you will need to choose the best suit possible to make a great first impression. You have between 3-8 seconds before the interviewer creates their first impression about you as a candidate. Whether or not their first impression is good or bad is based largely on your initial appearance. You will need to have 3-4 professional interviewing outfits available, and this can be very expensive. Each step in the interview process with a particular company will require a new interviewing outfit. To reduce your overall costs, while maintaining a high standard of appearance, search for used clothing that will meet your needs.
Professional interviews are often scheduled over 2-4 separate visits to the company's office. Each visit will require a different professional outfit. This wardrobe change is easier to accomplish for men, who can simply change their dress shirt or tie in between interviews. For women, it can be more challenging. Start your professional wardrobe with some basic pieces such as a dark navy or black basic suit. For men, they should have several conservative colored ties and a few white or blue dress shirts in addition to their suits.
Used clothing stores are great options for interview shopping since consumers often sell their clothing to resale shops. Many consumers sell clothing that is in great condition, and which is hardly worn. It is also common for people to lose weight and sell their larger sized clothing.
When you start your search for job interview clothing, start by shopping your local consignment and resale shops. You will want to steer clear of thrift stores or flea markets for used interview clothes as they are often more worn than the other types of used clothing stores. As you are searching for clothes, be sure to try the clothes on. If there is a simple alteration needed to a pair of pants or the length of a sleeve, consider purchasing the item and then using a tailor to mend your items. Be sure to review the clothing for any missing buttons, zippers and stains before you purchase your items. Remember, you are trying to make a great first impression, and your clothes can tell a lot about you.
You can also shop online for used clothing through auction sites or online consignment shops. The advantage to shopping online is that you can do it at any time from the comfort of your own home. The disadvantage is that you will not be able to try the clothes on. Be sure to read each clothing description, paying particular note to the condition of the clothing. To learn more about the Seller, you can also read the reviews of the previous Buyers to determine the Seller's credibility and the accuracy of their product descriptions.
Shopping for used clothing is a great option to consider when you are preparing for a job interview. Used clothing can provide high quality clothing options for you at affordable prices.
