Making money as a magician or illusionist is certainly not an easy task. While magic may be seeing a renaissance of sorts with many new street magicians such as David Blaine and Chris Angel inundating the airwaves, becoming a full-time magician (and earning well for it!) is still easier said that done. Many magicians and illusionists instead ply their trade on a part-time basis, and still others practice it as a hobby. Which is good news for you, if you are a magician or illusionist, because other people's interest in magic as a hobby is in fact a great opportunity for you to make additional income as a magician. That's right - all you need is to equip yourself with a domain and set up a blog that talks about magic, and soon you'll discover a few easy ways to turn your visitors' interest in magic into money. 1. Teach Magic In An E-Course One of the easiest things you can do is to provide magic coaching to interested visitors for a monthly fee. Once a customer has requested to learn magic and paid the fee, you can send then tutorials directly to their e-mail box. This can be something simple like step-by-step instructions on how to perform a trick, together with some tips on pulling it off successfully all carefully described in a text e-mail or you can even get creative and create videos showing the tricks being done. You can then provide a link to the video in your e-mail to your customers. Although it may all sound rather complicated, setting up a system that allows you to do this is incredibly easy and will cost you very little in capital. Once you start blogging consistently at your domain (which should be your stage name, of course!) and build up a legion of loyal visitors to your blog about magic, these visitors will over time turn into customers! 2. Write An E-Book Related To Magic An alternative to sending e-mails to customers in exchange for a monthly fee is to write something a little bit longer - like an e-book - and sell it for a fee. An e-book is simply a book written in an electronic format, such as Adobe PDF, and does not necessarily have to be very long in length. An e-book that compiles a large amount of magic tricks can be quite easily sold on the Internet, and you can easily do that directly from your blog! After all, your visitors are obviously interested in magic, and which budding magician can turn down a book full of neat tricks? 3. Get Asked To Perform At More Magic Shows Of course, in addition to selling information for money, you can also sell your actual skills as a magician on your website. By having a blog and having a presence on the Internet, you greatly increase the opportunities you will receive to perform as a magician. Any time one of your regular visitors wishes to procure the services of a magician or illusionist, they may give you a call. Not only will you be able to travel all over your country and give magic shows, but you may even be asked to go overseas to perform, if your blog has done a good enough job of selling you to your visitors! 4. Earn Commission By Marketing Other Products As mentioned earlier, you will get visitors from all over the country (and world) reading your blog posts and appreciating you and your magic, and you may encounter situations where your visitors ask you to recommend a product or service related to your craft. You can use this as a money making opportunity by becoming Affiliates of websites that sell magic-related products and services and by recommending your visitors to their website (via a special Affiliate link), you stand to earn commission. You can also recommend other magicians (that may be better located, perhaps, for an event) in exchange for a referral fee. A blog certainly gives you as a magician a wide array of new opportunities of making money, and in truth, all you need is to spend a few hours a day writing for your blog and you'll soon be able to put the above into practice to start earning money.
