When you look for a watch, do you look for a particular brand? Are you searching for the right Swiss, Timex or Swatch? Shopping for a watch based on the brand name alone might not be the best approach. Sometimes, brand name watches are more expensive just because they bear the name of a company or designer. Some people will pay top dollar just to get a watch with a certain name on it. High end brand names might have a special quality to them. They might use a fine material like gold or quartz, and perhaps platinum. If the brand is known for its quality, then perhaps it is a good idea to spend the extra money for that brand. However, sometimes simple brands have a similar level of quality as compared with higher end brands. In that case, it is better to purchase the watch that has good quality offered at a lower price. If a brand has a reputation for poor quality or extremely low prices, it might not be the best investment to buy a watch with that name. This is especially true if you are purchasing the watch as a gift. If a brand name has a negative connotation, it is not a good idea to associate your gift with that name. Otherwise, if the watch is for you, make sure that you are getting value for your money. Don't just get a cheap brand because the price is low. You might end up spending more money replacing the watch than you would have spent on a higher quality watch. When you shop for a watch, you shouldn't focus on the brand alone.
